Wire and cable|What measures are taken for cable fire prevention?

1. According to the "Electricity Production Safety Regulations", what are the necessary conditions for electrical workers?

The following conditions must be met:  ① Having been certified by a doctor to be in good health and free from any symptoms that may interfere with work;  ② Possessing necessary electrical knowledge, mastering relevant regulations, professional skills, and safe operation techniques according to their position and job nature, and passing the examination;  ③ Proficient in first aid methods for electric shock.

2. What should be paid attention to during transportation and loading/unloading of cables?

 (1) During transportation, loading and unloading, cables and cable reels should not be damaged. It is strictly prohibited to push the cable reels directly from the vehicle. Cables should not be transported and stored flat.  (2) Before transporting or rolling the cable reel, it must be ensured that the cable reel is firm, the cable is tightly wound, and the oil pipe between the oil filled cable and the pressure oil tank should be fixed without damage. The pressure oil tank should be firm, and the pressure indication should meet the requirements.

3. What measures are taken for cable fire prevention?

① Flame retardant cables are used; ② Adopt fireproof cable tray; ③ Adopt fireproof coating; ④ Fire barriers and fire barriers shall be provided at cable tunnels, mezzanine exits, etc; ⑤ Overhead cables should be kept away from oil pipelines and explosion-proof doors, otherwise local threading or thermal insulation and fire prevention measures should be taken.

4. Which aspects should be considered in selecting the cross-section of power cables?

The following aspects should be considered: ① The long-term allowable working current of the cable; ② Thermal stability in case of short circuit; ③ The voltage drop on the line must not exceed the allowable operating range.

5. What are the advantages of power cables compared to overhead lines?

① Reliable operation. Due to being installed in underground and other concealed places, it is less damaged by external forces and has fewer opportunities for failure. The power supply is safe and will not cause harm to people; ② Low maintenance workload, no need for frequent patrol inspection; ③ No need to erect poles and towers; ④ Helps to improve power factor.
