Definition of wires and cables

In a broad sense, wires and cables are also referred to as cables. In a narrow sense, cables refer to insulated cables. It can be defined as an assembly consisting of the following components, one or more insulated wire cores, and their respective possible cladding, total protective layer, and outer protective layer. The cable may also have additional uninsulated conductors.

Classification of wires and cables

Wire and cable products in China are divided into the following five categories according to their uses:1. Bare wires; 2. Winding wire; 3. Power cable; 4. Communication cables and optical communication cables; 5. Wire and cable for electrical equipment.

Basic structure of wires and cables
