Wire and cable|Difference between drag chain cable and ordinary cable

Difference between drag chain cable and ordinary cable

1. Conductor: The diameter of the drag chain cable conductor is generally 0.1mm. To ensure the stability of the physical and electrical properties of the conductor, multi-strand drawn 4N conductors are generally used. The conductor does not generate heat under the rated load. The conductor is a bright and bright oxygen-free copper wire with good toughness and low resistivity.  2. Insulation: Through high-speed bending test, the concentricity is very high, and the insulation thickness is uniform; Some streamers have different requirements and can pass material identification.  3. Cable formation method: Most drag chain cables are double stranded, ensuring the mechanical reciprocating torsion and bending requirements of the cable, releasing the internal stress between the cables, effectively protecting the cable, and extending the service life of the drag chain cable.  4. Tensile requirements: add nylon or DuPont Kevlar (commonly known as bulletproof wire, with a strength several times that of steel wire).  5. Abrasion resistance: Since the drag chain cable is used in a drag chain box, friction between the cable sheath and the drag chain can occur, resulting in strong wear resistance. The wear-resistant sheath material is generally polyether polyurethane TPU, which has high toughness. Therefore, people who understand the chemical industry can believe that the cable sheath must have good wear resistance to effectively ensure the service life of the cable.  6. Oil resistance: Drag chain cables are often used in machinery, often in contact with oil. Therefore, materials with good oil resistance can effectively ensure the anti-aging life of the streamer.  7. High speed bending test: can be performed with existing coordinate platforms or connecting rod bending devices.  8. Multi efficacy: The drag chain cable has much higher bending resistance, tensile strength, and wear resistance than ordinary cables.  Through the above points, we can better distinguish between drag chain cables and ordinary cables, and can also more easily identify drag chain cables. Although ordinary cables are cheap, they have a short service life and are frequently exchanged. In contrast, drag chain cables have a high price, but their long service life can reduce the failure rate and maintenance costs of the equipment. Therefore, in mobile environments, highly flexible drag chain cables are a more ideal choice.
