Locomotive cable
Locomotive cables are mainly suitable for the lighting of traction locomotives, subway vehicles, Multiple unit, railway freight (passenger) trains, automatic guided transport vehicles, power supply and control circuit wiring of electric doors, brake control, air compressors, communication equipment and other systems. It is a control and power cable with special fire resistance for Locomotive and rolling stock; The cable adopts the fifth type of tinned copper conductor, and the insulation sheath is made of special Low smoke zero halogen materials, with flame retardant, oil resistant, wear-resistant, high and low temperature resistant, chemical corrosion resistant and excellent electrical insulation performance.
What are the main characteristics of locomotive cables?
1. Small structural size
Due to the excellent physical, mechanical, and electrical insulation properties of polyolefin materials after irradiation, in the overall design of cables, thin insulation structures and multi stranded soft copper wires are used to ensure performance, resulting in a significantly smaller overall structure than rubber products of the same specification. (See Table 2 for structural dimensions).
2. Excellent high and low temperature resistance
After irradiation, polyolefin materials undergo a transition from thermoplastic to insoluble, significantly improving their heat resistance. The long-term operating temperature of the cable has increased from 70 ℃ to 125 ℃, greatly increasing the current carrying capacity of the same cross-section cable. This allows for the selection of cables with a smaller cross-section, which is of great significance in reducing design costs. At the same time, cables can also be laid and installed normally at -40 ℃, which can solve the problems of PVC, CSM, and other polar materials that are prone to hardening and brittle cracking due to low temperature laying, thus meeting the requirements for use and installation in colder areas such as Northeast China.
3. Weight reduction
Due to the significant reduction in the outer diameter of the cable, the material density is also greatly reduced (see Table 2 for details).
4. Laying with small bending radius
Due to the use of multi-strand soft copper wire structure in the conductor, the flexibility of the cable is increased, and its bending radius should not be less than 3D when the outer diameter (D) of the cable is 20mm and below. When the outer diameter (D) of the cable is 20mm and above, it should not be less than 5D. This allows cables to be laid in a narrower space.
5. Excellent softness characteristics
Due to the use of polyolefin elastomer material in the DCEYHR locomotive cable, the bending force of the cable is relatively small, similar to that of rubber locomotive lines. Therefore, it has excellent flexibility, is more suitable for laying in narrow environments, and can be constructed without requiring significant force or special installation tools.
