High voltage cable

Introduction to high-voltage cables

High voltage cable is a type of power cable, which refers to the power cable used to transmit between 1kV and 1000kV. It is mostly used for power transmission and distribution. High voltage cables are laid in buildings with air chambers. The product execution standard for high-voltage cables is GB12706.3-2002. High voltage lines usually refer to transmission lines that transmit voltages above 10KV (including 10KV), while high voltage usually does not include 1000V.

High voltage cable is a type of power cable, which is used in buildings where air chambers are laid. High voltage cables are sheathed with flame retardant plastic sheaths of low smoke polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or fluorinated ethylene polymer (FEP).

type

The main types of medium voltage cables include YJV cables, VV cables, YJLV cables, and VLV cables.

Full name of YJV cable: cross-linked polyethylene insulated polyvinyl chloride sheathed power cable (copper core).

Full name of VV cable: PVC insulated PVC sheathed power cable (copper core).

The full name of YJLV cable is cross-linked polyethylene insulated polyvinyl chloride sheathed aluminum core power cable.

Full name of VLV cable: PVC insulated PVC sheathed aluminum core power cable.

Due to the excellent conductivity of copper conductors, more and more projects are using copper core power cables as the backbone of power supply systems, while aluminum core power cables are less commonly used, especially in higher voltage power systems where copper core cables are more commonly chosen.

structure

The components of high-voltage cables from inside to outside include conductors, insulation, inner protective layer, filler (armor), and outer insulation. Of course, armored high-voltage cables are mainly used for underground burial, which can resist high-strength compression on the ground and prevent damage from other external forces.
