Shielded cable
A shielded cable is one or more insulated conductors of a cable surrounded by a common conductive layer. The shielding can consist of braided stranded copper (or other metals such as aluminum), non woven spiral winding copper tape, or a layer of conductive polymer. Usually, the protective cover is covered with a jacket.
Shielded cable usage characteristics
1.Rated voltage U0/U 3.6/6KV;
2. The long-term working temperature of the cable conductor is 90 ° C;
3. The minimum bending radius of the cable is 6 times the cable diameter;
4. Cables shall not be exposed to sunlight for a long time;
5. The bottom core of the cable must be well grounded.
Application of Shielded Cables
The use of shielded cables in security systems can provide certain protection from power frequency and radio frequency interference, thereby reducing the number of false positives generated. The best practice is to physically separate data or signal cables from parallel "heavy-duty" power circuits by at least 3 inches (75 millimeters).
Analog signal cables used in professional audio applications are typically shielded twisted pair cables terminated in XLR connectors. Twisted pair cables transmit signals in a balanced audio configuration. The audio multi-core cable from the stage to the mixing station is also shielded. Consumers use asymmetric shielded copper wire with a central conductor.
