wire and cable PE|What does wire and cable pe stand for?

Cable and wire pe

PE wire, the full name of which is protective earthing in English, is called [protective conductor] in simplified Chinese. That is to say, the [ground wire] PE wire is a conductor specially used to ground the exposed conductive part of the electrical device. It is not important whether it is directly connected to the grounding electrode (TT) irrelevant to the working grounding of the power supply point or grounded through the power supply neutral point (TN). Both are called PE wires.

Relationship between pe and PEN

PEN wire is a conductor with the functions of protecting grounding wire and neutral wire. In the project, it is mostly used for a section of line (TN-C section of TN-C-S) between the low-voltage side of the substation and the incoming point of the user's power supply. PEN line is used to accurately and well ground the original neutral line and connect the shell of the equipment to be protected to PEN line. Therefore, PEN line has both the grounding property of PE line mentioned above and the property of driving load of N line [neutral line, zero line]. However, PEN is usually used to save materials and in special places. According to the relevant standards of power line deployment, PE+N line system should be used as much as possible, That is to deploy completely independent PE protection lines, rather than PEN, which bundles N lines and PE lines together. Once the PEN system encounters grounding problems, the N line is sometimes electrified due to uneven load, which is easy to cause personal injury. So keep in mind that if possible, you should deploy independent PE protection lines as much as possible. Even if you don't deploy PE protection, you'd better not use PEN. I personally think that PEN lines are only things to deal with inspection unless required by specific fields. They are even more dangerous than not deploying protection lines

How to distinguish PE lines

The protective conductor (PE conductor) is the conductor used for electrical connection with any of the following parts to meet certain requirements: exposed conductive part, external conductive part, main grounding terminal, grounding electrode, power grounding point or artificial grounding point. Neutral conductor (N conductor) is a conductor connected to the system neutral point and capable of transmitting electric energy. It can be seen that N line is the neutral line and the working line, which is also called "zero line" in single-phase system; Without it, the device may not work properly. PE wire is the ground wire connected to the equipment shell. Without it, the equipment may be able to work, but the shell may be live; It can prevent electric shock accidents. In practice, people often connect to "protective neutral conductor", that is, PEN line, which has the functions of PE line and N line.

Function of grounding wire pe

The ground wire plays an important role because products of a kind of structure need to rely on the ground wire as a safety protection. As the internal structure of a class of structural products is a basic insulation structure, once the basic insulation fails, the dangerous current will be led to the ground through the protective grounding wire, thus protecting people and property. So there are very clear and strict requirements and test and verification methods for its symbol identification, wire size, insulation skin color, grounding wire impedance, connection mode, in the field of electricians and safety regulations.

Classification of grounding wire pe

In order to facilitate maintenance, the state has unified the color and letter symbols of wires. The colors of the three phase wires are yellow, green and red, and the letters are A, B and C, and the single-phase electric fire wire is represented by the letter L. The zero line is blue with the letter N. The ground wire is yellow and green, with the letter PE. Single-core cables are generally black, with no color difference. Some ground wires of multi-core cables are not yellow and green, but also black.
