Insulated wires and cables
An insulated wire is a wire that is evenly and hermetically wrapped with a layer of non-conductive materials such as resin, plastic, silicone rubber, PVC, etc. around the periphery of the wire to form an insulating layer to prevent electrical leakage, short circuit, electric shock, and other accidents caused by the contact of the conductive body with the outside world.
Common types of insulated wires
Generally, there are several types of commonly used insulated conductors: 1.Model of rubber insulated wire: BLX aluminum core rubber insulated wire, BX copper core rubber insulated wire; 2.Model of PVC insulated wire (plastic wire): BLV aluminum core plastic wire, BV copper core plastic wire; 3.Rubber cable model: YHC heavy rubber sheathed cable, NYHF agricultural neoprene rubber sheathed drag cable, Rubber insulated conductors have copper and aluminum cores, as well as single, double, and multi-core conductors. For indoor wiring, the working voltage generally does not exceed 5OOV. R represents flexible copper wire, V represents PVC insulation, S represents twisted pair, B represents flat type, and P represents shielding.
Insulated wire model and purpose
1. RV - PVC insulated single core flexible wire, with a maximum operating temperature of 65 ℃ and a minimum operating temperature of - 15 ℃, and a working voltage of 250V AC and 500V DC, used for internal wiring of instruments and equipment; 2. RVB: Parallel multi-strand flexible wire (flat), like the bare telephone wire often used at home, except that the core wire is the same as the RVV core wire. The two core wires are wrapped in parallel in a sheath, usually two in one sheath; 3. RVS: Twisted multiple strands of flexible wire, which means tearing the soft core of RVB apart and twisting it. Usually two twisted pairs; 4. RVSP: twisted pair shielded wire; 5. RVVB: PVC sheathed flexible wire (flat type), standard GB/T 5023.5-2008/IEC 60227-5:2003; 6. RVV: Multi stranded flexible wire, which means that the core wire is composed of multiple strands of copper wire. RVV wire is the most commonly used cable in weak current systems, and its number of core wires varies from single to multiple, and there is also a sheath outside. However, there are no special requirements for the arrangement between core wires; 7. RVVP: Copper core PVC insulated shielded PVC sheathed flexible cable, also known as electrical connection anti-interference flexible cable, with a rated voltage of 250V/450V; 8. BVVR is a copper core PVC insulated PVC sheathed flexible wire with an outer protective layer; BVR is a copper core PVC insulated flexible wire with only an insulating layer and no outer protective layer. The commonly used double plastic wire refers to the BVV series, the first V refers to PVC insulation, the second V refers to PVC sheath, and if the BV series is used, it refers to single plastic wire.
